Friskis & Svettis consists of 500,000 members gathered in 159 non-profit sports associations. Friskis & Svettis in Sweden is from Kiruna in the north to Trelleborg in the south and our joy of movement has also spread outside Sweden's borders. In Norway there are 40 associations and outside the Nordic region there are five associations.
The non-profit engagement is one of the Friskis movement's hubs. In principle, all our training is held by volunteer-committed licensed leaders and coaches. At our training centers there are also hosts who create a nice atmosphere and get the business to spin.
The members own Friskis & Svettis. This means that all members can make their voices heard and that revenues and any surplus go back to the members. It can be in the form of training of leaders, improved premises and training equipment or some other fun.
Anyone can apply to start an association. There is no head office that decides when it is time to start a new Friskis. They are enthusiasts who start new associations - and spread the movement further.
